Margie is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative pursuits share a common thread: finding beauty, possibility, and new life in unexpected places. From miniature embroidered interpretations of iconic masterpieces to the restoration and repurposing of found treasures, Margie celebrates the art of looking at familiar things in new ways.
Her miniature embroidery works reinterpret celebrated artists, from Van Gogh, Matisse, and Klimt to contemporary artist Banksy, in remarkably detailed pieces measuring just 2" × 3". Through carefully chosen colors and intricate stitches, she captures the spirit of these recognizable works on a tiny scale, proving that artistic impact is not measured by size. Multiple pieces have been accepted into juried exhibitions at Art Center Sarasota, where her miniature interpretation of Van Gogh's Chair with Pipe earned the Director's Choice Award.
Margie's passion for creative reinvention extends beyond embroidery. Always reluctant to see useful objects end up in a landfill, she began saving items that others might discard. When a tornado sent a tree crashing onto her house, the experience helped turn that instinct into a deeper appreciation for restoring and refinishing. During the pandemic, with more time at home, what began as an occasional project evolved into a rewarding creative hobby. As she transformed found and used treasures for her home, each successful project inspired another—and eventually, a desire to share what she was learning through how-to videos.
Professionally, Margie is part of the creative team at 342 Mad Solutions (342Mad.com), where she manages social media accounts, produces voiceovers, and develops blog content. Before that, she worked in radio at iHeartMedia, both on-air and behind the scenes. Her background in marketing, communications, and media has shaped her storytelling instincts and inspired her to explore new ways of connecting with people through creativity.
Now living in the greater Chicago area, Margie continues to explore the possibilities of art, embroidery, restoration, and reuse. Many of her miniature embroidered artworks can be found at AskingSpot.com.
Her philosophy is simple: look closer, waste less, create more, and never underestimate what a little imagination—and a lot of tiny stitches—can accomplish.
